The National Vocational Rehabilitation Centre (NVRC) was establised in 1997 as token of friendship and cooperation between the Government of Indonesia (Ministry of Social Affairs) and the Government of Japan (Japan International Cooperation Agency, JICA) through Japan's grant aid with a total amount 1,65 billion Yen (35 billion rupiah).

The mission of NVRC is to develop and improve vocational rehabilitation system in Indonesia which will support persons with physical disabilities to become socially and economically independent by obtaining a place of work. In order to achieve the goal, vocational training is provided for those with physical disabilities to improve their capabilities so that they may find suitable employment according to their aptitudes and abilities. more info...>

Under the technical cooperation project, JICA supported in dispatching long and short term experts, training counterpart personnel in Japan, providiing of technical equipment, and contributing to the local expenditure.

Through the project, knowledge and skills of instructors and staff of NVRC were improved, making them possible to provide better services for people with disabilities. more info...>
